As a seasoned traveler and marathon runner, I recently chose the Travelodge for a corporate retreat and found it reasonably suited for business travelers. Upon arrival, I was greeted by Scott at reception, whose helpfulness set a positive tone. The location is quite good, making it easy to access various NYC venues. The room was spacious and equipped with essential amenities such as a microwave, fridge, and coffee maker, providing a comfortable workspace. I found the staff's attire—casual crop tops—unprofessional, as they lacked proper identification, making it hard to discern employees. Unfortunately, the hotel had a persistent cigarette smell lingering throughout, even in non-smoking rooms. Despite my request to be moved, I received no follow-up, indicating a gap in customer service. Nevertheless, the Travelodge offers a business center, good parking, and express check-out, making it functional for work needs, but improvements in service and environment would enhance the experience for business travelers.
